Plot

Lee Young Joon (Park Seo Joon) is vice president of his family-owned company, YoomYung Group. He is so narcissistic that he doesn’t pay attention to what his trusty secretary, Kim Mi So (Park Min Young), is trying to tell him most of the time. After nine years of making Young Joon look good and stroking his very large ego, Min So decides to quit her job. Young Joon’s older brother, Lee Sung Yeon (Lee Tae Hwan), a famous author, comes on the scene and wants to start a relationship with Mi So. Can Young Joon accept the fact that Mi So no longer wants to work for him and may end up with his brother?

My Feelings

Well, unlike the whole of the K dramaverse, I did not completely love this show...Sure, it was entertaining but it fell very short of all the hype surrounding it and I really only gave it 3 stars because my Oppa Seo Joon did an excellent job! He played the roles of the narcissistic chaebol as well as a man completely in love with a woman to perfection. The plot was pretty good, the depth that the dramatic story line added stopped it from being a fluff piece, however, it wasn't enough to save this drama. I really couldn't pin point what exactly didn't work for me, but I think I started it expecting to be blown away and it just ended up being a regular K drama romcom. I was a bit annoyed with the fact that Young Joon kept hiding the fact that he was the boy that shared the past trauma with her, I understand not wanting her to regain her memory and feel the pain and fear, but she clearly just wanted to reconnect with the boy and that could have helped her heal, but no, they needed things to be unnecessarily complicated, it didn't work. The supporting cast actually made this show for me, they were hilarious and played their roles very well, without them, this drama would have been a lost cause.

Conclusion

Seo Joon Oppa, I still love you but this drama was just not doing it for me. I won't say don't watch it buuuutttt don't expect anything great. It has a lot of cute romantic scenes and a few passionate scenes, if you're looking for a simple romantic comedy, then you very well might love this drama,
however, if you just need a Park Seo Joon fix, you will do better with fight my way or Hwarang, his "AURA" is much more powerful in those dramas 😊

  1. Is this similar to 2weeks notice?

  2. Only to the extent that he over relied on her and they fell in love. In this drama, there is more of a history between them so it gives it a little more depth.
